ENVIRONMENTAL ENRICHMENT STRATEGY

The objective of environmental enrichment is to stimulate the development of the innate behaviours of each species among other positive effects on the animal's health. This is achieved through changes in the environment where the animal is housed. The scheduling of a monthly enrichment adapted to the individual and group needs favours the handling and improvement of caregiver routines and has an effect straight on animal welfare.

The conceptual design is a short-term or long-term action plan that provides general planning to guide the future improvements.

These guidelines are the possible improvements in the installation, changes in the group of individuals, in the organization of management routines by staff, as well as visitor awareness strategies. It is important to note that these designs are always made based on a previous welfare study.
